Understanding Types of Text

Based on generic structure and language feature dominantly used, texts are divided into several types. They are narrative, recount, descriptive, report, explanation, analytical exposition, hortatory exposition, procedure, discussion, review, anecdote, spoof, and news item. These variations are known as GENRES.

NARRATIVE
Purpose: To amuse/entertain the readers and to tell a story

RECOUNT
Purpose: to retell something that happened in the past and to tell a series of past event

Narrative and recount in some ways are similar. Both are telling something in the past so narrative and recount usually apply PAST TENSE; whether Simple Past Tense, Simple Past Continuous Tense, or Past Perfect Tense. The ways narrative and recount told are in chronological order using time or place. Commonly narrative text is found in story book; myth, fable, folklore, etc while recount text is found in biography.
The thing that makes narrative and recount different is the structure in which they are constructed. Narrative uses conflicts among the participants whether natural conflict, social conflict or psychological conflict. In some ways narrative text combines all these conflicts. In the contrary, we do not find these conflicts inside recount text. Recount applies series of event as the basic structure

DESCRIPTIVE
Purpose: to describe a particular person, place or thing in detail.

Purpose: to help readers how to do or make something completely

Future tense atau simple future tense adalah tenses yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa yang akan terjadi. Dalam bahasa indonesia, future itu sendiri mempunyai makna masa depan/masa yang akan terjadi.

Present Prefect Continuous Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kejadian, peristiwa yang SUDAH terjadi dan MASIH berlangsung bahkan sangat mungkin AKAN berlanjut. Dari dulu hingga kini disini bisa saja waktunya kemarin, 2 jam lalu, se-abad lalu, bisa juga beberapa menit yang lalu.

Simple past tense- tips belajar bahasa inggris

Simple paste tense digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa yang terjadi di masa lampau dan peristiwa itu tidak ada hubungannya dengan masa sekarang.

Dalam membuat kalimat menggunakan simple past tense keterangan waktu yang sering di gunakan adalah sbb:

- yesterday = kemarin
- last week = minggu lalu
- last month = bulan lalu
- a week ago = seminggu lalu
- two week ago = dua minggu lalu
- long times ago = dahulu kala/dulu sekali
- this morning = pagi ini/tadi pagi
-just now = baru saja

Setelah kita memahami dan hafal tanda waktu yang sering di gunakan dalam simple paste selanjutnya kita akan membuat kalimat dengan simple paste tense.

Bentuk kalimat

A. kalimat nominal

Kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang predikat nya bukan berupa kata kerja tetapi predikatnya berupa "to be". hal yang perlu di ingat dalam membuat kalimat nominal dengan simple paste tense adalah to be yang di gunakan adalah " was dan were ".

kita menggunakan "was" apabila subjek nya " I, SHE,HE,IT" ( kata benda tunggal ) sedangkah "were" di gunakan apabila subjeknya " YOU,WE,THEY"( kata benda jamak).

B.Kalimat Verbal

Kalimat verbal adalah kalimat yang subjek nya berupa kata kerja ( verb )
Untuk membentuk kalimat verbal dalam simple past tense rumus yang digunakan adalah :

( + ) I went to the beach yesterdey ( kemarin saya pergi ke pantai )

( - ) I did not go to the beach yesterday ( saya tidak pergi ke pantai kemarin )

Perhatikan tulisan yang bercetak tebal di atas!!

- Dalam membuat kalimat positif kata kerja yang kita gunakan adalah kata kerja bentuk kedua ( Verb 2 )
- Dalam membuat kalimat negatif kita menggunakan kata kerja bantu "did" karena bentuk yang kita buat adalah kalimat negatif, maka kita harus menambahkan " not " di depan kata bantu " did"dan kata kerjanya menjadi kata kerja bentuk pertama.
- Dalam membentuk kalimat tanya dalam simple past tense, kata bantu di kita letakkan di awal kalimat kemudian baru kita letakkan subjek di depan kata bantu tsb.

catatan: kata bantu did hanya di gunakan dalam simple paste tense.

Simple Present Tense

Tips belajar bahasa inggris kali ini kita akan membahas tentang tenses yaitu Simple Present Tenses. Simple Present tense adalah suatu bentuk pola kalimat yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan di masa kini. Simple present tense juga di gunakan untuk menyatakan suatu aktifitas yang terjadi berulang-ulang atau suatu kebiasaan dan juga kegiatan yang di tetapkan berdasarkan jadwal waktu atau acara.

jadi simple present tense merupakan suatu kalimat yang terjadi pada saat sekarang ini.

Ada dua pola yang digunakan dalam membentuk kalimat dalam simple present tense.

a. Kalimat nominal

Kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang subjek nya tidak di ikuti oleh kata kerja. yang bukan merupakan kata kerja adalah ( noun/adj/ adverb/ preposition ). jika subjek pada kalimat bertemu dengan selain kata kerja kita harus menggunakan "tobe" adapun "tobe" yang di gunakan dalam present tense adalah (is,am,are).

"tobe" is,am,are digunakan oleh subjek sebagai berikut:

is= digunakan apabila subjeknya SHE,HE,IT,
am= digunakan apabila subjeknya "I"
are = digunakan apabila subjeknya WE&THEY

RUMUS MEMBUAT KALIMAT SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

CONTOH:

• I am a student ( saya seorang pelajar )
  Pada contoh kalimat di atas I ( subjek) bertemu dengan student (noun) sehingga kita harus meletakkan "tobe" di depan subjek tersebut, "tobe" yang digunakan untuk subjek I adalah "am"

( Dia perempuan cantik )
Kita menggunakan "to be " is karena di depan subjek adalah kata sifat ( adjective )

We are at home
( kami berada di rumah)
Karena subjek bertemu dengan prospositon/ kata depan maka di depan subjek kita menggunakan tobe.

Kalimat verbal adalah kalimat yang subjeknya berupa kata kerja

Cara ini memang cepat tapi KELEMAHANNYA adalah jika suatu saat IDM men-DETECT bahwa Serial Number hasil dari PATCH, maka bisa Serial Number dari file Patch tersebut TIDAK BISA digunakan lagi.
Jadi DISARANKAN menggunakan cara “Memaksa IDM Versi Berapapun untuk FULL VERSION“, walaupun sedikit rumit tapi bisa untuk selamanya.

Baiklah, berikut cara dengan menggunakan File Patch IDM :
- Buat yang belum punya IDM : Download terbaru 6.07 dahulu disini.
- Untuk yang sudah punya IDM : Uninstall IDM anda dan hilangkan dari REGISTRY.
Cara Hilangkan IDM dari REGISTRY :
- Klik Start - Run
- Ketik : Regedit
- Klik HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFWARE
- Cari folder Internet Download Manager kemudian Hapus/Dellete
- Letakkan file “SnDk&p” ini dalam 1 folder HASIL anda meng-INSTALL IDM.
- Sebelum menggunakan file ini “SnDk&p” IDM anda HARUS dimatikan lebih dahulu.
- Jalankan file “SnDk&p”, nanti keluar program. Tekan tombol “Patch Server Check” dan anda akan mendapatkan Serial Number IDM nya.

Patch IDM 6.07

- Buka IDM anda yang baru, kemudian pilih menu “Registration” kemudian pilih “Registration”.
- Masukkan Nama dan Email (terserah, bebas) kemudian masukkan Serial Number yang di dapat dari “SnDk&p” tadi.
- Selamat IDM anda sudah Full Version dengan Nama lisensi anda sendiri.
